MANUFACTURERS OF TRADITIONAL
TIMBER BOX SASH WINDOWS

Replacement Double Glazed Box Sash Windows

Increasing energy costs and climate change have highlighted the need for planning authorities to review historical approaches regarding thermal upgrades to Grade II listed buildings. Our product delivers a building regulation compliant level of thermal efficiency whilst retaining the visual integrity of the historic building.

The design has attracted a great deal of attention from conservation architects and planners alike. Most notably as the recipient of a heritage award for our work designing and manufacturing double glazed sash windows for a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in central Ludlow, with the full consent and approval of the local planning authority and conservation officer. Of particular merit, was our use of hand blown cylinder glass on the units’ external face.

The project was judged to be:

“exemplary in terms of preserving and enhancing the Character of Ludlow Conservation Area.”

They also stated:

“the use of both modern and traditional repair technology coupled with high quality craftsmanship upholds the best traditions of construction in this unique town.”

Our windows have previously been approved in Grade II listed projects by multiple local planning authorities across the UK including:

St Albans City & District Council
Westminster Council, London
Richmond Council, London
West Yorkshire Council
Herefordshire Council
South Shropshire Council
Bath & North East Somerset Council

The industry trend is such that we are increasingly being given permission to carry out projects in which we design and manufacture sympathetic reproductions of original period windows, with substantial upgrades to the thermal and acoustic efficiency of the building. Read More
